Installation Accessories
Engineered to support Sensor Line's fiber optic sensor technology, Quarterhill supplies the anchoring, sealing and levelling components required for in-road installations in asphalt and concrete surfaces. The precise fit and material specification of these components ensures the sensor is held level, sealed against water ingress, and secure under traffic loading. Correct installation preserves measurement accuracy for the life of the pavement, with each component matched to the sensor system it serves.
MA-210 Opto-Electronic Interface
The MA-210 is the electrical bridge between embedded fiber-optic sensors and the system that acts on their data. It reads two fiber-optic load sensors and converts each one's optical signal into a clean trigger and analog output.
MA-110 Opto-Electronic Interface
The MA-110 is the electrical bridge between one embedded fiber-optic sensor and the system that acts on its data. It supplies and reads a single fiber-optic load sensor and converts its optical signal into analog and digital output.
MD-220 Digital Opto-Electronic Interface
The MD-220 is a two-channel digital interface for Sensor Line fiber-optic road sensors. Like the analog MA-x10 units, it feeds light into each sensor and reads how much is transmitted. Unlike them, it processes that signal on board and reports it over a digital data link.
SL Pocket Tape
Pocket Tape is the self-adhesive reinforced mastic membrane engineered to seal traffic counter installations in the road surface. A centre pocket seats the sensor and a peelable release film protects the adhesive until placement, with a 4-inch width available for standard counter slots.
SL Bolt Set
The Bolt Set is the road anchor assembly engineered to fix frames into concrete road surfaces. A snap ring seats between the washer and bolt head to lock the assembly, and each anchor sets into a 10 mm hole drilled at least 170 mm below the top of the frame.
PUR Slot Filler
The PUR Slot Filler is the two-component polyurethane compound engineered to hold PUR fiber-optic traffic sensors in asphalt and concrete road surfaces. It fills the slot around the sensor and cures into a tough, semi-rigid block that finishes flush with the pavement.
Hanger Bars
Hanger Bars are the reusable installation tools engineered to hold PUR and PUR-B fiber-optic sensors at the correct depth during placement. They clip onto the sensor strip at 25 to 30 cm intervals and suspend it level with the road surface, preventing the strip from floating when the bars are anchored or loaded.
SL LEDs
The SL LEDS is the LED traffic light strip engineered to embed directly into the road surface where visual warning improves driver and pedestrian safety. A transparent resin body seats it flush with the pavement, and it operates with all SL sensors and connects to the SL Road System. Patent pending.
