IcomSpeed

The IcomSpeed is a board-level Doppler speed sensor for integration into your own product. An 80 mm square module drawing as little as 8 mA, it reads vehicles to 120 m and trucks to 250 m, reporting speed over RS-232 with two configurable open drains for threshold triggering. Supplied without an enclosure, for building into signs, luminaires and variable message systems.

A speed sensor for your product.

Compact and very energy-efficient, the IcomSpeed Doppler speed sensor integrates easily into your own application.

It measures speed and transmits it on RS-232 output. It is also equipped with an open collector whose trigger speed threshold can be set. At 80 × 80 × 26 mm and 100 g, it is built to go inside your enclosure, not alongside it.

Operation and benefits

Small board. Long reach.

An 80 mm square board drawing as little as 8 mA, reading personal vehicles to 120 m and trucks to 250 m. RS-232 carries the speed value; two configurable open drains handle threshold triggering without any processing on your side.

01 / Integration

80 × 80 × 26 mm, 100 g

Small enough to design into a sign, a luminaire or a roadside enclosure, with a 12° × 24° antenna pattern.

02 / Power

From 8 mA at 12 V DC

Runs on 5.5 to 18 V DC and draws 8 to 50 mA depending on configuration, so it suits battery and solar installations.

03 / Output

RS-232 and two open drains

Speed over serial at 9600 to 57600 baud, via text menu or machine-to-machine protocol, plus two fuse-protected open drains rated 90 mA at 45 V.
